 GINGER MUTTON


Ingredients:

  • Mutton - 500 gm
  • Ginger - 1/2 inch piece (thinly sliced)
  • Ghee or Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Ground to Paste:

  • Ginger - 1 inch piece 
  • Garlic - 5 flakes
  • Mint leaves - 1 tbsp
  • Green chillies - 2 to 4 
  • Raw papaya - 1/2 inch piece 
  • Peanuts or Cashewnuts - 1 tbsp 

Method:

Apply turmeric powder to the mutton pieces. Keep for 10 minutes and then wash thoroughly.

Marinate mutton in half the amount of sliced ginger and ground paste for 30 minutes. 

In a pan  pour 1 tbsp of oil and add marinated mutton pieces fry for 10 minutes. Stirring in between.  Add 1/4 cup of water and cook it for 20 minutes until the mutton is tender. sprinkle with the left over sliced ginger.

Serve hot with ghee rice  or boiled white rice.
