How to make Mutton Rogan Josh? - Mutton Rogan Josh Kashmiri Recipe - Rogan Josh - Meat Rogan Josh - Viji's New Recipes - Meat Recipe

 MUTTON ROGAN JOSH


Ingredients:

  • Mutton - 500gm
  • Ghee - 3 to 4 tbsp
  • Raw papaya paste - 1/2 tsp
  • Ginger Garlic paste - 2 tbsp
  • Onion paste - 1&1/2 cup
  • Tomato puree - 1/2 cups
  • Saffron - 1/4 tsp (mixed in 1 cup milk)
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 2 tsp
  • Pepper powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp 
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Thick Curd - 1/2 cup
  • Salt to taste

For Garnish:

  • Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp (chopped)
  • Mint leaves

 

Method:

Wash mutton thoroughly and cut into pieces.

Marinate the mutton pieces in ginger garlic paste, curd, papaya paste, chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder and salt for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

Heat a pan in a low flame, add 2 tbsp of ghee add onion paste, tomato puree, garam masala powder and cook for 5 minutes.Stir in between.

Add marinated mutton pieces and cook for 20 to 30 minutes. Add 1/2 cup of hot water, saffron -milk mix and cook until the mutton pieces becomes soft. Stir in between.

Garnish with coriander leaves and mint leaves before serving.

Serve hot with paratha or butter naan or saffron rice.
